The Treasure Fleet Collection

Our collection of three stunning crosses is inspired by the famous Atocha Cross, one of the finest and rarest examples of colonial era gold work with emeralds.  The Cross was discovered in 1985 in what was left of the wreck of the Spanish treasure ship Nuestra Señora de Atocha that went down in a storm off the coast of what is now Florida in 1622 while on route from Cartagena de Indias to Spain.

As history transects the present and design aesthetic evolves, these contemporary crosses part with tradition by deemphasizing the visible gold and encrusting the finely crafted, 18K framework with lots of fine Colombian emeralds.  The emeralds are selected according to our industry-based grading scale of AAA, AA and A, referring to depth of color and tone, degree of saturation and clarity.  They are painstakingly matched within the grading category and crosses are priced accordingly

We dedicate these modern treasures to the crews of the Atocha and other famous Spanish galleons lost at sea during the era of the Treasure Fleets.
